Baby tubs are generally useless in my opinion. I find that they are often clunky and a pain to use. I usually find myself using a sink (which isn’t easy either, but at least I didn’t pay extra for it, right?) or I take a bath with my baby.
I love taking a bath with baby G, but it can be hard to get her out and me out without one of us ending up in tears if my husband isn’t around to help.
I was recently contacted about reviewing the Spa Baby Eco. The design was completely new to me and I thought it was worth a shot. Plus it looks something like a bucket and if it was horrible, at least I could still find a use for it right?
Well, I love it. It was surprisingly easy to use, my daughter enjoyed it and I didn’t end up covered in water.
There are a few thins that I love about this tub.
- It’s made out of 100% recycled plastics,
- It is recyclable,
- There are no toxins (no PVC, Latex, Phthalates or BPA),
- and it uses hardly any water. This is pretty cool, so I had to illustrate!
Before you place your baby in the tub be sure to grab your towel, baby wash and a cup. I also had a toy and diaper. It goes without saying, but I will anyways. Never leave your baby unattended in this tub (or around/in any water).
Here you see my baby girl in the tub
She is covered plenty. I could have put in slightly more, but I wanted it far from her face while she played.
Blow you can see the water line. There is hardly any water in there and it was plenty to get her clean.
And to show you just how little water there is in this thing, I added a couple drops of food coloring and poured it into my standard sized bath tub. There’s hardly anything there! I would image that most people use this much just washing their hands.
So do you want one of these yet? Good, Spa Baby wants you to have one!

I do bath time with my nephew and I love how free he is in the water – totally unafraid to duck under, get bubbles on his face, or stick his hand under the spout. He would be too big for this tub but I would love to have it for my future baby – it seems like an awesome way to try to live green.

right now our bathtime routine is one of us holding down the baby while the other washes – it's hard to get used to slippery wet bitty babies!! i can't wait until she's big enough to play at bathtime.

My favorite summer bath time routine is getting out little kiddie pool filled with water and bubbles and letting the kids run and jump into their outdoor bath! It is just a fun way to get mostly clean while we live green!

My favorite bath time routine is telling daddy that baby needs a bath! DH does most of the baby bathing. However, DS does have a favorite bath toy that we love to play with when I do bathe him – he loves his boat that a friend gave to him.

We don't really have a routine yet as my son is only 6 1/2 weeks but I just love bathing him. My husband and I do it together and it's such a fun time. He loves bath time, more than us!

Amanda,
I am not entering this, because I have no babies at this time, but love the concept. Might have to remember this for when the next grandbaby arrives. I love the water conservation, the use of recycled plastics and the apparent easy use of this product. Thanks once again for helping all the parents/grandparents to live as green as possible!

I would love a tub like this for my 5 month old. She has learned out to launch herself forward in her current tub and make a huge mess. She probably spills more water then this tub uses. Live Green!

No bath routine yet as I'm just eight weeks along, but I love the idea that this helps conserve water even though baby is covered and warm, letting you truly "live green"!

Wow! That's hardly any water to clean a (totally adorable) baby. Great find … and thanks for sharing.

I will admit that I don't have any kidlets of my own yet, so my bathtime routine is just taking a shower and brushing my teeth. BUT my friend is due in August and this would be perfect for them since they don't have a bathtub or a large sink in their new place and she's freaking out about bath time. This would be awesome to give to them.

Our favorite bath time routine is having Julia shower with one of us! It is getting very hard to do with a very pregnant belly, and like you said we can't do it without help. Would love to try this tub.

We don't really have a bathtime routine. My 2 year old probably wouldn't like this tub because she likes to lay in the water and "swim" but my 9 week old would like this. She likes being up to her shoulders in water and that's kind of hard in baby tubs or sinks.

I just gave my daughter her first "bath" yesterday and it was a PAIN with the tub I received as a gift! I will definitely wait until my husband is home next time to have an extra set of hands. This tub looks so cute! LIVE GREEN!

I'm interested in winning this tub in order to help us live green even more! My son LOVES bath time, and has taken tub baths since he was 2 weeks old but they use a lot of water! Our bathtime routine is our FAVORITE part of the day! First, I undress my son & take off my shirt. We cuddle & get our skin-to-skin snuggles in before bath time! Then we talk to the "baby in the mirror". My son LOVES looking in the mirror & we do this many times a day! Then we sing our feet first every time song & in he goes. He likes to sit up right now, so we get him all washed up & then he gets to play until the water starts to cool off! We love bathtime!

I will be a new mommy in September, but I don't have a bath routine yet. My sister has two kids (2 yrs and 5 yrs), and I've bathed them before. I put them in the tub together, let the older one play while I clean the younger one. Then get the older one cleaned up after the younger one is out and getting dressed by another adult in the house! I can't wait to live green when my little one arrives in a few months!!

Our bath time routine is pretty basic–we wash her in the kitchen sink. But my favorite part is before putting her in I wrap her in a towel and hold her head in the palm of my hand and wash her hair. She loves it and has since her very first bath.

I fully agree that standard baby tubs aren't that great. The best tub my son has been in so far is a opaque storage (like for clothes) tub that was just the right size to fit his butt in without all the overwhelming extra space present in a standard bathtub.
As to routines, we don't have anything specific. Sometimes the kids get showers, and those go relatively quick. Other than a few moments for my son (almost toddler) to check out the shower head (it has the hose connector).
For baths, my daughter (preschool aged) gets some playtime in the water and suds. My son is just happy to play in the water while he's getting cleaned and quite happy to be crawling around barebutt after getting cleaned up (the best part of "bathing" for him LOL).
My son may not know what it means to "live green", but I'm sure he'd love getting washed in the spa tub.

My favorite bathtime routine is when I give the babies a massage with ca baby lotion after their bath. They are so calm and happy that they have no problem falling asleep after wards. Live Green!
