When Silk offered to send me a few coupons to try out their new Fruit & Protein I was pretty excited because I knew my kids would love it and I was looking forward to coming up with some fun way to use it and I finally figured it out!
I have been wanting to drink more smoothies for a while now but every time I tried to make one the recipe was so hit or miss. Okay, I should clarify – the ingredients were hit or miss. I have found that I do NOT like banana in smoothies and lots seem to include them. I knew I wanted something with greens and I love mangos, so when I saw that Silk Fruit & Protein came in a Mango Peach variety I was thrilled. I got to tossing together a few things and came up with this recipe that I am really enjoying. I hope you do too!
Mango Avocado Kale Smoothie
- 1 Avocado
- 2 Handfulls of Kale
- 2 Mangos (I left the skins on!)
- 1 Peach O’Soy Yogurt
- Mango Peach Silk Fruit & Protein (to your desired consistency) (this could be subtituted with orange juice or another favorite juice to help thin the smoothie)
Cut up your mango & avocado and toss in your food processor. Add the yogurt, kale and a little Silk Fruit & Protein. Blend until smooth. Add additional Silk Fruit & Protein until you reach the desired consistency. Grab a tall glass, a straw and enjoy!
Serves 2 (or one mama and three kids)
I really hope I win this! I “won” a House Party for Silk, but they sent me the email when I was on vacation and was too late to accept it, so I lost the party. This would be awesome so I could try it! Hope I win!
I LOVE smoothies. My favorite right now is raspberry, cherries, banana, chia seeds, and coconut water. I’d love to try some Silk though!
This sounds so good!
I am not a big fan of smoothies because I am too lazy to make them. I have tried them from smoothie stores before but they are way too expensive and you really have no idea about the quality of ingredients you are getting. You may be getting the pink slime version of fruits and you do not even know it.
My smoothie experience has been give and take. They’ve been either amazing or awful!
Thanks for the recipe, I’ll have to check it out. Just got into juicing this past year and so far I’m really enjoying it and always looking for new things like this to try as well.
I love smoothies, and seemingly “weird” combinations like this. I might try it!
Now i’m sincerely taking the type as well as structure of the web-site. It could be wonderful
