Recycling
Infographic by Recycle – Don’t bin it, recycle it

As my city is cutting their drop-in-the-bucket 16k yearly recycling budget (which will close the best, most used center) yet still wanting a pat on the back for making their buildings more energy efficient, I felt this graphic properly illustrated my sadness.

Reportedly just 32% of municipal waste is recycled in the USA, just in case you were wondering were we would fit in on that graph.

  • So sad, don't they realize how much money they can save by recycling?? I wonder if they are just uninformed or really don't care. Either way it is too bad that they are doing away with a very important service. I drive 25 miles to take my recyclables to a center (closest one for me) but I don't mind, usually take them when I am making a trip anyway so no wasted gas for me. Hopefully the community will let their voice be heard and your community will start their recycling program again.

  • Thanks for sharing this very informative (and pretty upsetting) graphic. This also illustrates how important it is that we all make efforts to re-use, re-purpose or give away unwanted items instead of throwing them into the trash. Great post.
